Itinerary 3 - 15 Days
ANCHORAGE - DENALI PARK - VALDEZ - KENAI PENINSULA

 

 DAY 1 - Arrive Anchorage

Enjoy one of our many area bed and breakfasts, ranging from accommodating homestyle to private suites and cabins. Throughout downtown, close to the airport, midtown and south Anchorage a variety of bed and breakfast lodgings to accommodate individual needs. Please indicate your preferences on our reservation form.

 DAY 2 - Explore Anchorage

Downtown Anchorage offers many selections of shops and dining as well as several attractions. The Anchorage Museum of History and Art, The Native Heritage Museum, The Anchorage Zoo, The Botanical Gardens, The Alaska Experience Center, Alaska Cineventures, Winter Downhill and Cross country skiing.

We can make reservations for any of the following:

 DAY 3 - Drive to Denali Park

Stop en route at the frontier town of Talkeetna, a widely known staging point for Mt. McKinley climbers. We would be happy to make any of the following reservations:

  • Flightsee Mt. McKinley
  • Land on a glacier!
  • Jetboat Safari
  • Scenic Float trip
  • Salmon fishing

Continue north to Healy for overnight accommodations ranging from beautiful country homes with mountain views and gourmet breakfasts to modern and comfortable cabins with sweeping views of the Alaska Range.

 DAY 4 - Discover Denali National Park

Explore Denali National Park in any of the following ways:

  • Denali Park Shuttle
  • Kantishna Wilderness Bus
  • Heli-hiking
  • Mountain bike tours
  • Horseback riding
  • Whitewater river rafting

Spend your second night in your comfy Denali accommodations after a full day of exploring Alaska's most popular park.

 DAY 5 - Drive to Valdez vis the Denali and Richardson Highways.

The drive through Thompson Pass is exceptional as it winds downward toward the small and beautiful little town of Valdez. Alaska Private lodgings represents several bed and breakfasts in the Valdez area, several in the downtown area with private or shared baths, some are a few miles outside of town offering private suites and astounding ocean and mountain views.

 DAY 6 - Discover Valdez

Choose from any of the following activities:

  • Prince William Sound Cruise
  • Alyeska Pipeline Terminal tour
  • River rafting

 DAY 7 - Aboard the Marine Hwy Ferry to Whittier

Arrive in Whittier and spend the night in Girdwood, or head on to Seward if the time of your ferry arrival allows.

 DAY 8 - Drive to Seward

The drive to seward along the Seward Highway is exceptionally beautiful. Several stops along the way allow natural wildlife viewing opportunities. Be sure to visit Crow Creek Mine, Big Game Alaska and Portage Glacier. Alyeska Prince Hotel offers a tram ride to the top of Mt. Alyeska for a spectacular view of the inlet. Continue the drive to Seward and stay in one of our many area B&Bs. Comfortable Inns's with private baths or shared baths, and one or two bedroom cabins for more privacy.

 DAY 9 - Experience Seward

Visit Sewards' Sealife Center and Exit Glacier. Stroll along the bay, enjoying the sights of eagles, beautiful surrounding mountains, even otters and sealions can be seen on occasion from shore.

Spend you second night in your Seward lodgings after an exciting day of Seward fun.

 DAY 10 - Drive to Soldotna-Kenai-Kasilof area

Drive through Cooper Landing to some the Kenai/Soldotna/Kasilof areas. Some of the bluest river waters you'll ever see. Each of these towns offers a variety of bed and breakfast/cabin accommodations for your overnight comfort.

 DAY 11 - Explore Soldotna-Kenai-Kasilof area

Take some extra time to enjoy this beautiful area of the Kenai Peninsula. Spend your second night in one of our many area B&Bs

 DAY 12 - Drive to Homer

Head to the end of the road, Homer. This quaint little town with shops lining the Spit offers several options for activities which can be reserved through Alaska Private Lodgings. Once again, we represent several quality B&B lodgings, many with spectacular views and gracious hosts to make your stay a welcome one.

 DAY 13 - Do Homer

 DAY 14 - Anchorage

Explore your most favorite spots along the return trip to Anchorage, or visit those that you missed on the trip down. Choose from mountain chalets and beautiful bed and breakfast homes for your last night in Alaska. Time for any last minute souvenier shopping or visiting downtown area attractions.

 DAY 15 - Depart Anchorage

Having finished a great Alaska vacation, depart for home with some exceptional memories of this great land.
